Mama Chelseas “Rawnola” Review

I had the pleasure of meeting a new Raw Friend here in Ashland where I live. I was so excited to learn about her business. It’s refreshing to meet people who really want to make an impact on the health of others and who care about their well being. These are some of the most endearing characteristics of raw foodies.

This rawlnola is unique and tasty. There are at lest two flavors that I know of, but my favorite is the Cacao Gogi. I love it to snack on , or as cereal with almond milk. It’s super yummy.

Mama Chelsea’s Rawnola is rolling out to many of our local stores and co-ops in Southern Oregon. As her website gets developed, I’ll post a link to her site so you can try it for yourselves.

THE RAW event of the year has just wrapped up. Angelic looking Angela Stokes and Raw Hottie Matt Monarch got hitched by the one and only Godfather of Raw himself, David Wolfe. The setting was on the most beautiful, serene organic farm in Southern Oregon. I was at the festivities on Saturday and had a chance to meet and greet many of the ecstatic raw enthusiasts, amazing raw vendors and simply feeling the love in the air made me high. It was a powerful time and one that I hope will continue on an annual basis as Matt and Angel celebrate their many happy future years together.

Blessings to you both. You Rawk!

Update to the Raw Vegan Chocolate Mousse

I thought the Chocolate Mousse was awesome once I made it, but I put it in the fridge and kind of forgot about it until the next morning. Once I took a bite of the refrigerated version, I had a flash back to the fudge in the cookies I loved as a kid. Before I went to work, I decided to make some almond cookies so I would be able to use this mousse/fudge in a cookie.

My typical almond cookie consistes of:
1/2 c raw almonds
agave and/or 3-4 dates
2 tbsp. coconut oil
1/2 vanilla bean or vanilla extract (alcohol free)
blend all in a food processor
form into small balls and flatten out into a cookie shape, or spread it all onto a dehydrator sheet and cut into squares before dehydrating.
Dehydrate @ 115 for 6 hours

When I got home from work, the cookies were done so I gave myself a treat by taking 2 cookies and placing the fudge in the middle to make a Raw sandwich cookie! Super Yummy.

Blend all together on high in a Vita-Mix or similar. That’s it. Eat and enjoy!

Raising Money Part II

I’m still working on raising money for the almighty Vita-Mix. I’m doing pretty well with it. I’m up to $210 so far. I’ll be making better Green Smoothies and Almond Butter in no time!

Speaking of SuperFoods, I have the dehydrator working overtime this evening. There is a tray of Sun Burgers, a tray of onion bread, a tray of Almond Bars and A tray of Apple cookies. All Raw of course. I can’t wait to eat tomorrow.

These recipies were really simple and only took a few minutes each to prepare. The key to staying raw for me is to make it as easy as possible for those moments when I am really hungry. If there are a few items prepared ahead of time, I am more likely to grab them instead of something un raw and unfood like. No nutrition, heavily processed food shoved into my mouth unconciously used to be my way of life, but I am living much more mindful these days and I sincerely hope you are too. Times are a changing and we must as well if we will intend to have a bright future that we control.

Blessings,

RawMa
