More on Dehydrating

13 Jan

I had a round platic Dehydrator a couple of years ago, but it melted.
Right now I am drying some flaxseed/tomato crackers
This is a tasty recipe
1 cup flaxseeds
1 cup fresh tomato
1/4 c sundried tomatos (i dried them out yesterday)
1 clove garlic
1/2 red bell pepper
juice of 1/2 lemon
blend up in a food processor
it will become somewhat gel like from the flax seeds
If you have a dehydrator – just spread out on the sheet, get it even and cut before drying.
If you don’t have one, just place on a cookie sheet, spread out, pre-cut the size you want and dry on a low temperature in the oven.

The kids loved making the sweet potato chips.
3-4 sweet potatos
peel, slice thinly, place on drying sheets and dehydrate 6-7 hours or until chip like
or use squash
these are especially good if you use Parma on them as a seasoning. Yummy!
